WHO AM I
ABOUT MY PRACTICE
- "Why should you choose me as your counsellor?" Life, work experiences and counselling training and experience has provided me with a sound grounding to offer professional, genuine and non judgmental support in a safe place. My honest yet empathetic personality has served well with building a trusted professional working relationship with my clients.
- Qualifying with a BA (Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling and a Diploma in online counselling means I am qualified to practice by various mediums such as face to face, online, or by phone.
- I am an Accredited Member of the BACP (British Association for counselling and Psychotherapy), meaning that my practice has met the BACP higher standard as a competent and ethical independent practitioner.
- I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward into your own sense of being for a better life.
- Entering into counselling or coaching is not always easy. Both are different but both require self reflection. This means looking at the difficult parts of yourself and the challenges that you encounter. ABOUT ME
Training & Qualifications:
- I am a professionally qualified counsellor having, trained with the Iron Mill College in Exeter, qualifying with a BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling with Worcester University. I have further qualified with a Diploma in online counselling and a Diploma as an ICF Integrative trained coach, an Advanced Diploma in Relationship counselling, Level 3 City & Guilds in Education and Training, and a trained NCIP Accredited Advanced Diploma in Supervision.
- As with all professional counsellors who work ethically, I attend regular supervision and The BACP recognise that my working practice meets their higher standard as a competent, ethical practitioner by awarding me as an accredited BACP membership. I am fully insured and I hold an Enhanced DBS clearing certificate.
Experience:
- Having previously served 17 years as a police officer I have been exposed to many of life challenges, as well as managing the effects of repeated exposure to trauma. I have previous experience as a listening volunteer for a well know charity for people in crisis. I have experienced the therapeutic benefits of creativity achieving level 2 C&G in sugar-craft. What my experiences have provided for me are the core skills essential for counselling which academic qualifications alone cannot provide.
What I Offer
- I offer empathetic and non-judgemental therapeutic counselling, coaching or supervision support to clients seeking either of these services by Webcam, phone or in person. I value each person as a unique individual.
- Being an integrative counsellor, coach and supervisor means I am able to draw from a variety of approaches to my work such as Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural, Transactional Analysis and Solution focused.
- This means that we are able to personally tailor the service you are seeking to your individual needs.
